Macys Chooses Jupiter and Mapex for Great American Marching Band

AUSTIN, TEXAS–August 21, 2008 – Macy’s has selected Jupiter and Mapex to provide instruments for over 200 student musicians chosen to perform in the Great American Marching Band which will lead the 82nd Anniversary Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Organized by Music Festivals, the Great American Marching Band will be co-directed by Dr. Rick Good of Auburn University and Dr. John Woods of Ohio State University.

“It’s very rewarding to be part of the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Not only do we get to showcase our new Quantum Marching drums and horns,” said Derek Craig Jupiter’s Vice President of Marketing, “but we also get to share our instruments with talented kids from across the country.”

The student performers will use Jupiter brass and Mapex Quantum marching drums during rehearsals and the parade performance.  Authorized Jupiter dealer Gadsden Music Company of Gadsden, Alabama, will provide on-site staff to assist with distribution of the instruments to the students.

“Gadsden is proud to be a partner with Jupiter Band Instruments, Inc. as we provide instruments for the students in the Macy’s Great American Marching Band to use in the parade,” said Clyde Morris owner of Gadsden Music.  “We look forward to supporting the students, Macy’s Jupiter and Mapex in any way possible.”
