AUSTIN, TEXAS  –   March 9, 2009 –  Due to scheduling conflicts, Jupiter Band Instruments, Inc. has postponed both the 2009 XO Student Jazz Solo Competition and the 2009 Boston Brass Concert Band Competition until 2010.  

The prize for the XO Solo Competition includes a new XO horn and the opportunity to play onstage in New Orleans with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.  The prize for the Concert Band Competition is a two day visit at the winning band’s school from the Boston Brass and conductor Dr. Stan Michalski.  Due to other obligations, both tentative dates for these rewards conflicted with the artists’ performance schedules.

The original submission deadline for entries to both contests was March 20, 2009.    Any entry fees that have already been submitted for the 2009 contest will be refunded. For details on the 2010 contest visit our website in October.
