The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps has been invited to perform at the 2010 International Tuba Euphonium Conference in Tucson, Arizona.
The Corps will be participating in a clinic entitled "Inside the Arc: A close look at how modern day drum and bugle corps prepare for and execute excellence". The clinic will feature an in depth look at how The Academy Brass Line rehearses and the use of modern educational techniques and tools on the drum corps scene. The Academy is appearing through the generous support of both the International Tuba Euphonium Association and Jupiter Band Instruments.
The Academy is in the third year participating in Jupiter's "Quantum Marching Project" by performing on Jupiter, Mapex, and Majestic instruments exclusively. "We are thrilled to show the tuba euphonium community the way we operate at
The Academy and to show off these world-class instruments on an international stage right in our back yard," says Christian Carichner, Brass Caption Head. “The clinic will show The Academy's warm-up process, our use of The Breathing Gym - the popular breathing method developed by Jupiter Artists and World Renown Tubists Sam Pilafian and Patrick Sheridan, and also our use of SmartMusic technology as a tool to rehearse year-round.”
The Academy's clinic will be at 2pm on Saturday, May 29th on The University of Arizona campus in Tucson.
