Majestic Timpani

A Long-Standing Tradition

Drawing on classic designs of the great German timpani makers, founder Willem Klazes van der Glas set a standard of excellence in 1921 that remains as the governing philosophy for Majestic. Product development, engineering and production are overseen by family members and every model must adhere to stringent standards of craftsmanship and performance. Majestic’s quality has won the loyalty of percussionists throughout Europe and by fusing traditional craft with modern technology, all-new models like the innovative Prophonic timpani have illustrated Majestic’s prowess in contemporary engineering that is rapidly gaining recognition and appreciation from percussionists around the world. The full line of Majestic mallet instruments continues the legacy of craftsmanship expected from Majestic’s enduring 80 year history.

Attention To Detail

Majestic Marimba Majestic mallet instruments employ top quality bar materials, advanced tuning methods, and elegant height adjustable leg systems that make them an outstanding choice for any musical setting. Features such as re-leveling adjustment of marimba rails, memory gel vibraphone dampers and extended range quint-tuning of xylophones truly set these instruments apart.

The flagship model of the Majestic concert mallet series, the M8650H five octave professional marimba, exudes an elegant stage presence with solid construction. The newly designed bar geometry is player friendly, with an appreciation for the demands of contemporary marimba repertoire. The xylophone and vibraphone models also encompass details that improve upon traditional design. The X7535H xylophone features long bars of select Honduran rosewood and meticulous quint tuning. The vibraphones use a reinforced fan belt with cogs, a memory gel damper and a wide pedal. Rounding out the professional mallet models is the widest range and largest selection of chimes, including 22-note models. The chimes use an enclosed damper box to maintain optimal performance of the pedal over time.

Musical Evolution

Majestic Bass Drum Majestic has a proud history of crafting quality concert bass drums utilizing full suspension hoops to maximize resonance and projection. More recently, time-tested quality features are being teamed with precision-made binary shells formed from select woods, such as maple, birch, and walnut .

The Mapex Concert toms expand the Concert Series offering single and double-headed tomas available in eight sizes ranging from 6" to 16". The Artist Series toms features a shell with two plies of Walnut interior and includes a patented Mapex Isolated Tom Mount System (I.T.S.) and small single point mounted lugs that combine to yield a sound that is warm and open. With newly developed designs on the horizon, Majestic is poised to revolutionize concert snare drum technology, taking percussionists to new levels of expression and musicality.

For Every Stage

Bryan Carrott Majestic is committed to providing quality, affordable instruments for every level of musician. By incorporating technology-driven engineering, Majestic is able to make professional quality surprisingly affordable for school ensemble application, rapidly making Majestic concert percussion the preferred instruments for today’s percussion sections and ensembles.

“Majestic clearly understands and has addressed many aspects of what is most important for mallet instruments being used in our schools,” describes Scott Brown, Director of Dickerson Middle School Percussion Ensemble (GA). “The sound of these instruments is of the highest level, and the attention to detail and innovation is truly impressive!”

By offering Scholastic Mallets that allow young playrs to to learn on full-sized instruments as economically as their friend playing wind instruments, students are able to play the same percission tuned bars as on Majestic professional mallet instruments with the benefit of a lighter weight and height adjustable leg system.
