Taiwan, Taipei, March 26, 2025 – Jupiter Band Instruments is thrilled to announce an official partnership with Dr. Jon Sweet, Director of Athletic Bands and Associate Director of Bands at Washington State University. With decades of experience in music education, visual design, and ensemble leadership, Sweet is a versatile and creative educator with a passion for developing energetic band performances and positive learning environments.
“I fully endorse Jupiter Marching Instruments! Having spent time with the Purdue ‘All-American’ Marching Band and its full line of Jupiter wind instruments, I’ve seen firsthand their exceptional quality, durability, and playability,” Sweet shares. “These instruments deliver the reliability and performance that marching musicians need.”
Sweet brings a wealth of experience to the Jupiter family. Since 2004, he has been designing award-winning marching band shows and shaping the future of marching ensembles through concept planning and visual design. He is an in-demand concert clinician and has adjudicated for UIL, Kentucky Music Educators, USBands, American Classics Festivals, and other invitational competitions.
Sweet’s educational honors include a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Kentucky in 2019, a Master of Music degree in Wind Band Conducting from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2013, and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Abilene Christian University in 2004.
Before his role at Washington State University, Sweet served as the Associate Director of the “All-American” Marching Band, where he was the primary drill designer, and as the Assistant Director of Bands at Purdue University. He had previously spent 11 years as a public-school band director in Texas, where his ensembles consistently achieved superior ratings, best in class awards, best in festival awards, outstanding visual awards, and outstanding general effect awards.
Jupiter Band Instruments is proud to partner with Sweet in supporting the next generation of marching musicians.
